Upgrade Advisory Notice

Upgrades from versions earlier than 9.1.0

If you are upgrading from a version prior to 9.1.0 then the following points apply:

ADVISORY NOTICE

SOAP Interface Update

ServiceScheduling 9.1.0.0 has made non-backwards compatible changes to the SOAP API interfaces. Users upgrading from a version prior to this release are required to consume the new WSDL and re-compile (if required) for their integration.

It is highly recommended that all integrations with the SOAP API interfaces are then re-tested. Details of changes to the SOAP API interfaces can be found in the ServiceOptimizer Integration Guide.

Upgrades from versions between 8.1.x and 9.0.x

If you are upgrading from any version of ServiceScheduling starting with 8.1.0.0 or later, up to the most recent version of 9.0.x then the following points also apply:

ADVISORY NOTICE

Breaks temporarily in the wrong time zone

After upgrading from any version of ServiceScheduling between 8.1.x and 9.0.x inclusive, Breaks may temporarily be in the wrong time zone until changes are made to the day’s layout (by, for example, booking or changing a job).

Immediately after upgrading to ServiceScheduling 9.1 or later, in the event that the previous version was any version between 8.1.x and 9.0.x inclusive, Breaks may temporarily be in the wrong time zone, resulting in them appearing at the wrong time on the Gantt and/or being incorrectly dispatched.

This is due to a change in the way in which Breaks time zones are stored in a database cache table.

As the issue only affects a table that caches Breaks data, the issue is temporary – as the cache is updated when changes to a day’s layout are made (e.g. by booking or changing a job), then the time zone of Breaks will automatically be corrected.

However, in the event that this issue is likely to cause significant business disruption, please speak with ServicePower’s customer care team prior to upgrading, to ensure that an appropriate script can be prepared for your upgrade to clear the cache table so that all Break times will be re-calculated immediately following the upgrade.
