Introduction

This document contains the high-level release notes for ServiceMobility 3.41.0.

The release notes are grouped by the major ServiceMobility components: Mobile Application, ESB Integration, and Web Management Console. Please refer to the specific product documentation for complete details, examples, use cases and configuration information. 

This release primarily focused on adding new functionality and bug fixes to the ServiceMobility mobile application.

About this Release

This release represents a major improvement to the ESB and major and mostly minor improvements to the mobile application.

New Features

NEW Route Map

The large form factor version of ServiceMobility now provides the ability view the Route Map for the current day.  By navigating to the Route Map icon within the application.  The user's current location and remaining service events are plotted on the map along.  The user map toggle on the "Show/Hide Route" button to view or hide the anticipated route for the day.

NEW  Copy and Paste

The large form factor version of ServiceMobility now provides the ability to enable copy and paste.  This is enabled by setting the enableTextSelect property in the Mobile Config REST API to true.

Application Changes

CHANGED  Message sent to Export Queue when Notes and Remarks modified

A work order message is now generated within ServiceMobility and sent to the back office each time the Notes and Remarks fields are modified within a work order.  This allows the client's back office system to receive notification of these changes without the user first having to close the work order.

CHANGED  Line Items associated with Work Order Templates will now be dynamically priced.  Previously, only pre-defined pricing associated with the template were utilized.

CHANGED  ServiceMobility now restricts the user from entering a future install date when editing an asset within the work order.

FIXED  Fixed an issue within the large form factor version of ServiceMobility where the View button from the Home screen was not navigating to the correct work order.

FIXED Fixed an issue within ServiceMobility where Stock Level Recommendations were failing to update in the back office when the user manually added a product.

FIXED Fixed an issue within ServiceMobility where work orders were failing to update in the back office when the user manually edited the Asset associated with the work order.


ESB Release Notes


NEW ServiceMobility now provides the Work Order Videos REST API to manage videos associated with work orders. 

The following video types are supported by the API:

  • Audio Visual Interleave (.avi)
  • QuickTime Movie file (.mov)
  • MP4 Video file (.mp4, .3gp)
  • Windows Media formats (.wmv)

NEW ServiceMobility now provides a System Category Mapping REST API which allows clients to map multiple ServiceScheduling job types to a single ServiceMobility order type.  This allows customers to maintain a large number of job types within the ServiceScheduling without unnecessarily putting added weight to the mobile application. 

NEW ServiceMobility now provides a method to insert or update Service Codes in bulk via the Service Codes REST API.

CHANGED Default Tax Rate introduced to Tax REST API and WorkOrder REST API.  In addition to the ability to specify a tax rate by specific order type, "*" is now an acceptable value.  ServiceMobility will treat this as the default tax rate (regardless of order type if it is present).

FIXED Fixed an issue where the incorrect Note was updated when utilizing the PATCH operation for the Work Order REST API.
