14.1 External Data

ServicePower is not the system of record for Employee data other than that required for the scheduling process. It is generally assumed that Employee data will be stored and updated in a CRM/SMS and the relevant bits will be uploaded into ServicePower's database as and when they are created/updated, using the APIs available for this purpose. However, at time it is necessary for the ServiceManager UI to be used for updating the scheduling data relating ot an employee, along with other 'unknown' data - this data being subsequently lownloaded into a 3rd party system. This 'unknown' data is known as External Data, and the are a number of tables available to define and store this. These are described in this section.
