This page provides an overview of the new functionality added to ServiceScheduling 10.0.0.

New Functionality added in 10.0.0

Technology

Technology Update

The ServiceScheduling 10 release incorporates a number of key updates to the core technologies used by the solution, and to the operating systems & databases supported. In particular:

  • Support for MS SQL Server 2014 has been added to both ServiceOptimizer and ServiceManager.
  • ServiceManager, and the ServicePlanner and ServiceAnalytics modules, have been upgraded to use:
    • Java 8; and
    • Tomcat 8.5.
  • Support for both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 have been added to ServiceGANTT.

Enhanced Foreign Language Support

The ServiceScheduling 10 release enhances foreign language support by now supporting two-byte UTF8 languages on MS SQL Server. (Support for this was previously only available to users with an Oracle database.)

System

Restricted Jobs

It is now possible to enable and configure restricted jobs functionality, to prevent certain job details from being viewed/edited by all users unless granted permission to do so.

User Management

It is now possible to create, update and delete ServiceScheduling users via the API.

ServiceManager

Restricted Jobs

When restricted jobs functionality is enabled based on the system configuration, it is now possible to:

  • Use the global Job Restriction Types menu option to manage the set of restriction types defined; and
  • Use the ServiceManager's Update ServiceOptimizer User page from the Users menu to manage the set of restriction types for a user.
