New Functionality added in 11.0.0

Technology

Technology Update

The ServiceScheduling 11 release replaces all functionality previously supplied via Java Applets with HTML/JavaScript, to restore compatibility with Firefox and Google Chrome.

System

Job Spares

The management of spare parts has been updated and improved:

  • The 14.1 Book Appointment SOAP API, 14.1 Book Dependency Group Job SOAP API, 14.1 Book Non-Appointment Job SOAP API, 14.1 Request Appointments SOAP API, 14.1 Get Employee Jobs SOAP API, 14.1 Get Job SOAP API and 14.1 Update Spares Stock SOAP API have all been updated to now support up to 30 spares items per job.

  • Updated vehicle stock values are now available for scheduling jobs straight away (without the need for system restart).

  • If system parameter recalculate_next_day_stock is set to YES, vehicle stock is no longer set to the specified stock levels at the start of each day. Vehicle stock levels for tomorrow is automatically updated when there is any change in job status, job allocation or change in operative spares for today. The stocks available for tomorrow are calculated from what remains at the end of today; this ensures the accurate scheduling of any early morning jobs, before a van is restocked, that require spare parts.

  • The spares quantity passed Update Spares Stock API is now the current stock in the van - the start of day spares quantity is worked out from that plus the spares already used by the logged off or cleared jobs.

  • Once vehicle spares are updated, the schedule is refreshed for all operatives who are part of the API request.

  • Details of actual spare parts used during jobs are now passed in when the job is cleared/logged off via Change Work Item Status API, rather than relying on calculated spare delta values, ensuring that if spares used for a job differ from what was originally expected, required spares are re-evaluated to ensure that jobs will be able to be completed based on actual remaining spares.

  • A new jeopardy state has been added to indicate jobs that are in jeopardy as a result of insufficient vehicle stock for assigned jobs.

  • It is now possible to optionally return the details of stock requirements for a job when getting job details via Get Job API.

  • It is now possible to configure the system to keep a historical record of daily vehicle stock levels for up to 5 days.

  • It is now possible to view the details of spares held for the current day by a specific operative.

  • It is also now possible to view jobs that are in jeopardy as a result of a lack of spare parts.

  • Improve the spares reporting in the Other column of the Schedule report by adding a new code 'E' to identify that spares are to be sourced externally and refined 'G' to identify jobs booked with the 'forcego' flag set.
