ServiceOptimizer is installed by executing the ServiceScheduling_install.exe
application, and following the prompts presented by the Setup Wizard.
Installation Process
Please note that the installation process for ServiceOptimizer must be executed from a command line prompt that has been started with administrator privileges.
Step 1: Open Administrator Command Prompt
As noted above, the ServiceScheduling_install.exe
application must be executed from a command line prompt that has been started with administrator privileges (see Fig. 1).
Step 2: Run Installer
From within the command line prompt that has been started with administrator privileges, run the ServiceScheduling_install.exe
application.
Step 3: Select Installation of Pre-requisites
At this point, if required, the installer may present an option to install missing pre-requisites for the installation (see Fig. 2).
If displayed, click on the Next button, to display a screen (see Fig. 3) where it is possible to either:
- Select the missing pre-requisites to install; or
- Select not to install missing pre-requisites.
If missing pre-requisites are not selected, then the installation of ServiceOptimizer can still proceed, but the missing pre-requisites must be installed later, before ServiceOptimizer is run.
However, if any missing pre-requisites are selected to be installed, then the missing pre-requisites will be installed on the following screens (see Fig. 4).
The exact screens shown may vary, depending on the pre-requisites selected for installation.
Step 4: Welcome
At this point, the welcome screen for the Setup Wizard will be displayed (see Fig. 5).
Click the Next button.
Step 5: Select Installation Folder
On the Select Installation Folder screen (see Fig. 6), review (and change, if required) the installation folder that will be used for the ServiceOptimizer installation.
Once the installation folder is set as desired, click the Next button.
Step 6: Select Database Type
On the Database Connection Details screen (see Fig. 7), select the type of database (Oracle or SQL Server) from the dropdown list.
Step 7: Set Database Connection Details
Based on the selection of the type of database in Step 6 above, the Service Connection Details screen will display the inputs for the required database connection details for either MS SQL Server (see Fig. 8) or Oracle (see Fig. 9).
Once the details for the database connection are set correctly, click the Next button.
Step 8: Ready to Install
At this point, ServiceOptimizer is ready to install (see Fig. 10). This final dialog presents an opportunity to either completely cancel the installation, or to return to the preceding dialogs and update the information previously entered.
When ready, click the Install button to install ServiceOptimizer.
Step 9: Installation Finished
Once the installation of ServiceOptimizer is completed (see Fig. 11), click the Finish button.
