Restricted Jobs Limitations

On This Page:

Restricted Jobs provides a mechanism for restricting access to certain job details, so that they can only be viewed/edited by authorized users. For further details see:

This page outlines the limitations of Restricted Jobs functionality.

Dependent and Same-Site Jobs

The customer is responsible for ensuring that each dependent and same-site job is booked with appropriate restriction types so that restricted users cannot infer details about a restricted job from unrestricted jobs related to it.

GPS Breadcrumb Trail

Whilst job tooltips have restricted fields blanked out, GPS data is out of scope of Restricted Jobs functionality and no restrictions will be applied to any GPS data that is available within ServiceScheduling (such as GPS location marker tooltips). Customers are responsible for ensuring that any GPS data complies with their data restriction requirements.

Inspections Pages

These pages have not been updated for the restricted job functionality. Appointments and jobs cannot be booked with a restriction type and no fields are restricted.

Recurring Tasks

The recurring tasks feature has not been updated for the restricted job functionality. Recurring tasks cannot be booked with a restriction type and no fields are restricted.

ServiceAnalytics

ServiceAnalytics has not been updated for the restricted job functionality. No fields are restricted in any reports.

ServiceManager Technician Skills

Whilst technician skills may be restricted in ServiceGANTT if there are any restricted jobs in the Gantt horizon, users may still be able to see technician skills via ServiceManager (and therefore the Gantt Operative > Skills context menu). Customers are responsible for ensuring that restricted users do not have access to technician skills in ServiceManager, if these should be restricted.

ServiceSWAT

Restricted jobs feature is not supported in ServiceSWAT, therefore it cannot book jobs with restriction types and no fields are restricted.
