A Strawberry perl installation is provided as part of the installer  - this must be configured before SWAT can be used. In the location where Strawberry perl has been installed there are two batch files which need to be run to configure the installation ready for use.

  • Relocation.pl.bat
  • Update_env.pl.bat

The batch files should be run as administrator and should be run in the order shown above. Once the batch files have been run the ServiceSWAT service should be restarted to pick up the new environment settings.

It is important that the Strawberry Perl installed with SWAT is the one that is used. Strawberry perl can be used for both Oracle and MS SQL Server and therefore should be considered as a replacement for any other perl installation. All references to previous installations of perl should, ideally, be removed from the ‘path’ environment variable - multiple versions of perl on the target machine’s path variable may cause issues when running SWAT. It should be remembered that an installation of ServiceScheduling also requires an install of Perl. Please contact ServicePower for further details.
