Introduction
This document describes the REST web service APIs provided by ServiceBroker. They adhere to the REST architectural constraints and are often referred as RESTful APIs. The RESTful APIs are accessed via a URI. URI stands for uniform resource identifier and is why they often refer to the data they access as a resource. Within the ServiceBroker system we refer to the data being accessed as objects. Therefore, in the context of this guide the terms resource and object are considered synonyms.
This guide targets developers who want to integrate ServiceBroker into their backend systems and for administrators who want to script interactions with the ServiceBroker server. Because the REST APIs are based on open standards, virtually any development language can be used to access them. This guide will teach you how to use the RESTful APIs in the proper manner to accomplish your data integration requirements.
